Tumbleweed meets at-risk youth and young adults
where they are and strives to create a continuum of care, making space for hope
and opportunity. Founded in 1976, Tumbleweed is a non-profit, community-based
agency serving homeless, trafficked, runaway, and otherwise at-risk youth and
their families and support systems.
VISION-
Tumbleweed’s vision is to end youth homelessness in our community. We do this
through building and sustain a top notch team and providing youth focused
programming evoking lasting life change.
MISSION-
Tumbleweed provides safety, assistance and hope to our community’s vulnerable
and homeless youth, creating lasting life changes.
Tumbleweed’s services are free of charge and
include Tumbleweed continues to provide crisis intervention, family mediation,
access to basic needs, case management (mental and physical health, addiction,
housing, employment, education) and short term counseling and mental health
services. Our crisis line is available 24/7, toll free number 1-888-816-4702.
At Tumbleweed, we strive to serve our community
and some of its most vulnerable citizens by employing several important guiding
principles: our programs are flexible and individualized; we are deliberate in
our attempts to build genuine, trusting relationships; and we view young people
in a way that recognizes their strengths while taking into consideration the
tremendous adversity and trauma they may have experienced.
